EAGLE&#39;S MOON
A beautiful evening, basking in the afterglow of a West Coast sunset.
The moon has risen in the deep blue sky to the east, casting shadows on the beach and dancing moonbeams on the surf.
You know there could be no more perfection to an evening...
Just then, you gaze back at the moon to notice an eagle has landed in the uppermost branches of a tree, as if to come and share the magic. From that moment on, you will always remember the evening as the Eagle&#39;s Moon.&#39;
I imagined a friend of mine captivated by this experience when he took the photograph that inspired Eagle&#39;s Moon.
It is just such a moment that forever calls one back to Vancouver
Island&#39;s West Coast.

ROY HENRY VICKERS is a painter, printmaker, carver, and designer who acted as artistic adviser in the building of Saanich Commonwealth Place and the refurbishment of Vancouver International Airport.
His world-renowned art is a feast for the spirit. Dancing skies, mysterious moons, and ancient symbols tell stories of nature and life, and honour his Northwest aboriginal heritage. Bold, colourful images carry one to a place where the past, present and future merge... where nature, man, and spirit dwell in balance.
Today Roy Henry owns and operates a gallery in Tofino on Vancouver Island and lives and works on the Tsartlip Reserve near Victoria.
