Lot #37: Roy Henry Vickers

Roy Henry Vickers was born in Greenville, British Columbia in 1946. His mother, of British ancestry, was a school teacher and his father a Tsimshian Indian fisherman. Roy's paintings and serigraphs have become known worldwide for their uniquely graphic style. His bright colours and bold clean lines are the Vickers look. In any collection his work will be the piece that is original and different from the others. Roy shows his work in his own gallery, the Eagle Aerie Gallery, in Tofino, B.C. The building was designed by Roy and is in itself a work of art. No matter where you see a Roy Henry Vickers' work you will feel the West Coast rain, hear the surf or the distant fog horn or stand in silence among the ancient totems.
