A stunning pair of unique faux tusks, these are actually wood forms which have been covered with hand-carved cow bone tiles. Note: they are not ivory. Each tile has been carved in deep relief, many with delicate washes of color, and fitted over the wooden form to show scenes of Chinese warriors, most on horseback, amid swirling clouds. Each piece sits, perfectly balanced, on a heavy ebonized wood stand. They make a dramatic arching portal to an entryway or between rooms, and would be suitable in a home or shop. Note a few missing tiles from undersides of bases, which do not affect appearance or stability at all. Heavy. We have packing materials, but you will need to bring help to wrap and remove. Vintage Carved Bone &#34;Tusks&#34;  

What an incredibly lovely visual relic, so simple, yet so instructive.  Way...way before smart phones, before you simply tapped  on the WORLD CLOCK icon and realized maybe you shouldn&#39;t call your pal in Perth at 3 a.m. there was this, the comprehensive Howard Miller World Time Display. It electronically shows how and why there are time zones that follow the sun and the moon&#39;s movements. It all makes sense when you see the full picture.  
It functions as an analog, electric-powered timepiece featuring a map with windows that display the current time in various world cities (68, to be exact).  The clock acts as a world time zone map, utilizing a rotating system behind the dial to show time differences across the globe. This original vintage 1959 model was lighted for visibility and to enhance the day/night display. (Lightbulb needed.)  It is enclosed in a thick oak frame with a glass pane.

Howard Miller World Time Electronic Display

ARMAND LEMO (France, 1811-1935).
&#34;Amazon&#34;. Signed &#34;Melo&#34; in right hand corner 

Known for his Art Deco style sculptures, Lemo captures grace and strength in this piece: a depiction of an Amazon mounted on horseback, a stylized archer in the right moment in which she tenses her bow, thus adopting a dynamic and elegant posture. 
A female figure, clad in a helmet and chain mail, suggesting her role as a warrior or huntress, sporting control and confidence, her right arm extended and her hand holding a spear. Unfortunately, this gal is missing her spear (we&#39;re still looking)!  The horse, depicted in great anatomical detail, is in motion, its body hurtling forward. 
Lemo&#39;s Art Deco style is in the sculpture&#39;s clean, geometric lines and simplified forms. The surface of the bronze (or as we believe, cold-painted spelter), is worn and wearing in a not unattractive patina. Spelter is a zinc-based alloy, often combined with lead or copper, and then &#34;cold-painted&#34; by applying the paint at room temperature to the cast metal, rather than being fired in a kiln. the paint on the pleats of her uniform indicate this process to us. 
The base also features dramatic Art Deco decorative elements, such as graduated stepped slabs of various colors and grades of polished marble. 
Based on available art market listings, multiple Art Deco Amazon Warrior sculptures by Melo (pseudonym for Armand Lemo), featuring the warrior on horseback, have been sold or listed by various dealers, often described as rare, cold-painted spelter pieces from the 1930s.

Amazon Warrior by Melo

For the bird lover, this duo of grouse lithographs brings highly detailed, full color prints in dark green mattes and matching oak frames. The Ruffled Grouse is a Limited Edition, No. A 333, from John James Audubon&#39;s Birds of America, published by the American Craft Print Guild. These prints were produced in the first half of the 1900s, and are hand-numbered. The Pinnated Grouse is by Alexander Wilson, 1766-1813, and also shows a blue-green warbler and a Nashville wren. Engraved from the original by A. Lawson. Wilson, a Scottish immigrant to America, was a predecessor of Audubon&#39;s and the first to attempt a comprehensive visual survey of America&#39;s birds. He produced 76 illustrations for his &#34;American Ornithology,&#34; and along the way discovered 39 previously unknown species. This hand-colored lithograph shows the plate impress along edges. Engraver Alexander Lawson was one of Wilson&#39;s early boosters, and eventually, his engraver. Wilson began handing a few engraved plates to Lawson to be colored and reproduced, then added pen and ink and watercolor originals to his repertoire, sometimes in collaboration with Lawson. Audubon, 1785-1851, based a few of his later illustrations on Wilson&#39;s originals but expanded greatly on that work. See lot 64 for more info on Audubon. Both pieces are in very good condition.

Cloisonne, Champleve, Satsuma Pieces

Big lot of brilliant art glass includes this handblown peppermint swirl bowl, 10&#34;D X 6&#34;H; a vase and a cup of murinne glass, likely Murano; a Murano Incamiciati-style acid green vase, 12&#34;H; a gorgeous iridescent bubble bud vase, dated 2006, signed (illegible), and indicated as origin New Orleans; a handblown tomato and transparent ornament; shimmering Murano Canes-style gold and red striped bowl; a stained glass style plate with blue over clear patterning, 8.5&#34;D; and two objets, with swirling colors in a clear base, and clear ornamental toppers. Because Murano pieces aren&#39;t always signed, we can&#39;t verify, but given the overall quality, styles, and techniques, we believe most if not all of these to be Murano glass. Bring box.

Art Glass including Murano 

At either end of the spectrum, the likely extinct ivory-billed woodpecker and the ubiquitous robin. Both are matted in dark green, under glass in oak frames. The woodpecker print was engraved and colored by R. Havell, after Audubon&#39;s original watercolor. Robert Havell Jr. handled all but 10 of Audubon&#39;s 453 plates for &#34;Birds of America.&#34; The robins print wasn&#39;t examined out of frame, so we can&#39;t see the likely same credit. Born in Haiti, Audubon was the illegitimate son of a sugar plantation owner and a chambermaid. Raised by his father in France, he immigrated to America as a teenager, using a false passport his father gave him, to avoid being drafted into the Napoleonic wars. His interest in nature combined with his rapidly developing skills as an artist, and his innovative means of staging birds he had shot so as to draw them most accurately. He traveled the country, observing birds, their habits, their surroundings, and began to create the watercolors that would eventually be collected in his monumental &#34;Birds of America.&#34; Truly monumental--each of the 453 plates was double elephant folio-sized, or approximately 2&#39; X 3&#39;, in order to show the birds at life size. He was obliged to raise the money himself for the publication of the 4-volume work over a period of years, which he did by selling subscriptions and paintings, to the tune of just over 2M in today&#39;s dollars. Both are in very good condition, with some creasing at the bottom of the woodpecker.

Signed statue of a falcon. Dramatic large-scale raptor perches on the falconer&#39;s gloved hand, head turned and wings folded. Black marble base, which needs a touch of goo-gone to remove the remnants of a decal. Signed and dated 2004, although the signature is illegible. We believe this is a zinc/lead alloy, with a bronze-tone finish. A few areas where the finish has worn away, as shown. Very heavy. Ground floor.

Large Falcon Statue

An unusual globe hangs from a bronze ring, and showcases the heavens, with each astrological constellation depicted. From the map created by cartographer Geradus Mercator de Rupelmonde, 1512-1594. Mercator&#39;s early interests included cosmology and astronomy, although he is most famous for the development of the Mercator Projection, which was an early aid to navigation. Plus a full color lithograph map of the heavens, with the astrological symbols cavorting along with various other constellations. The original engraving was made by W.G. Evans in approximately 1833, &#34;under the direction of E.H. Burritt.&#34; Burritt was an astronomer and mathematician, and together the two men produced an atlas titled &#34;The Geography of the Heavens.&#34; Burritt was known variously as &#34;the forgotten astronomer,&#34; and &#34;the Carl Sagan of his day,&#34; and came to astronomy after working as a blacksmith. The atlas consisted of eight charts, which illustrated the heavens both seasonally and by hemispheres. This reproduction is from Janus Publications of the Wichita Omnisphere, which closed in 2001, dating this to the late 1990s, most likely. Currently under plexiglass.

Set in Stone - Geodes

Chandeliers are one of those items that have been regularly replicated over decades using inferior materials and shoddy workmanship leading to early deterioration and a sense of aesthetic &#34;imbalance&#34;. This is not one of them!  This extra large chandelier was purchased at Restoration Hardware Item # 68060228 CRYS and features crystal clear pendants and chains of small beads meticulously strung.  According to the RH site it was inspired by the opulence of Victorian English lighting, the chandelier by Timothy Oulton juxtaposes a rustic metal frame with a profusion of crystal glass, precision-cut, polished and spaced for optimal refraction and sparkle. The 40&#34; chandelier is rated for twenty-five 25W max. E12 candelabra bulbs.  This item had been removed for transport and was fully functional when detached.  Extra pendants, chain links, beads, and wires are provided.  Candle cups lend the image of dripping when flickering candlebulbs are used. Heavy/fragile - bring help!round

19th Century Rococo Iron &#38; Crystal Chandelier

From the owner: word has it this magnificent item came from an old synagogue being torn down in either Boston or Chelsea. 
The letters spell the Hebrew word Shaddai, which means God Almighty.  Inside a Jewish star it is meant to bless the space. Since it’s in a pediment it makes sense that it would have been at the entrance to a temple. Hand-crafted with ornate appliques and brass lettering.  Unable at shoot to access the backside.

Synagogue Wall Hanging

Heavily detailed cabinet is a knock-out addition to any room. Every visible surface is carved, with panels representing various religious figures and motifs, surrounded by intricate floral and architectural designs. The top compartment has two doors, which open to a large storage area with smaller shelves to either side; the middle compartment has a single door and one large storage area; plus an open shelf at the bottom. Werner Multi-Max Pro 6-in-1 Ladder 

For the musician or the decorator! Great lot of drums, includes the handpainted dhyangro, a double-headed drum meant to be worn across the body by means of the strap. Dhyangros are said to have a male and a female side, and are used by shamans and monks as a connector between physical and spirit worlds. This drum is 28&#34;D. Three wood and cowhide African drums, all with heavy twine securing the drumhead. The tall drum with carved and painted wooden base is an African djembe, 15&#34;D X 24&#34;H; plus two tabla-style drums, the larger being 20&#34;H X 20&#34;D. And a senufo stool, 16&#34; X 13&#34; X 7.5&#34;H. Senufo stools are hand-carved by members of the Senufo ethnic groups of West Africa, spread across Mali, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Ivory Coast. They feature curved seats and thick tapered legs. The short-legged versions were used in rural communities on wash day, to allow women to sit while they scrubbed clothes. Wear to drums as shown.

Drums And Senufo Stool

A piece of history, and one of a kind. This portrait of Pope Pius XII is composed entirely of highly skilled embroidery, on a rose silk ground. Note the way the stitches indicate the direction of hair growth, and the incredible detailing of the face. Pius XII held papal office from 1939 until 1958, and is shown here wearing the white zucchetto cap reserved for popes. The Polish script indicates that this piece was created by a resident of Wildflecken, a displaced persons camp for Polish and German refugees after WWII, operated by the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration and later used as a U.S. Army training base. It is dedicated to William Frary, and is dated 16.10.1948. Frary was almost certainly William Frary (1904-1983), later William Von Blomberg after his adoption by his friend Baroness Adelheid Von Blomberg to preserve her family name, as she had no heirs. Born in Lynn, MA, he was a PR rep for the World Fellowship of Faiths, and later co-president of the World Fellowship of Religions, among many other roles. Overall good condition, in a crackled white paint over wood frame.

Embroidered Portrait of Pope Pius XII from 1948

Three brass powder flasks, two of them with embossed scallop shell, and one with elaborate scrolled design and still with its leather cord; the smallest is missing its cap, as shown. Flasks came into use in the very early 1800s, at first as English imports and then manufactured here, and gradually replaced the cow horns used with flintlock guns. One unadorned powderhorn with resin stopper and missing end, and a stamped copper-sheathed horn in two pieces, with carrying chain, missing its stopper. Possibly Persian in origin. Condition commensurate with age and use.

Four unusual fun hinged boxes - laminated, chiseled, woven, and carved, all in fair-good condition. Two stone fruits - a peach and a well-worn apple, and a beautiful smooth oval stone, polished to a speckled beige perfection. An absolutely useless round raw wooden ball highlighting bands of trunk rings - a great conversation piece! And a decorative hand-carved treen with a fitted lid and a turned finial knob, with a two-tone lacquer finish. Carved foliate motifs suggest a Caribbean origin.

1938-1949 National Wildlife Federation Conservation Stamp Album

A deep red 3-ring binder from the National Wildlife Federation, with embossed gold title plate on front and spine. Annual pamphlets are dated  1938 through 1949, with a few years missing. While there is some water damage to the binder and several pamphlets, they retain their bright colors and are intact, with one exception in 1943, as shown. These poster size stamps were released annually, with proceeds devoted to the Federation and to state conservancies. Founded in 1936, as awareness of the pressures on wildlife and habitat was rising, the NWF sought to ally conservationists with hunters and farmers to protect habitat, and especially to restore duck and other game bird populations. Its first president, Jay &#34;Ding&#34; Darling, was also an artist and had been appointed by FDR to head the U.S. Biological Survey. He illustrated the first Federal Duck Stamp, as well as many of the images for the first sheet of stamps in 1938.
