Up for auction is a charming and vintage table crumber, also referred to as a "silent butler" or crumb roller, designed to effortlessly and stylishly clear crumbs from a dining table. This piece features a distinct rectangular, barrel-shaped body, completely enveloped in an ornate repoussé-style etched pattern of swirling scrolls and floral motifs, giving it a rich, antique appearance. A smooth, dark wood handle extends upward from the silver-plated body for easy handling. When the device is rolled across the tablecloth, the internal, revolving bristle brush (visible on the underside, see images) picks up debris. There is a small metal pin on one end cap which is likely the mechanism for opening the compartment to empty the collected crumbs. The item is presented in its vintage condition. It has not been polished, exhibiting some surface wear, scuffs, and natural patina (especially on the smooth side caps) that align with age and previous use. The original foil sticker from the manufacturer is still attached to the underside, offering useful care instructions. Condition: Good vintage condition.
