First Edition. Signed Copy. AUTOGRAPHED by the Author. Hardcover. Dustjacket. Ottawa: University of Ottawa Press, 2001. 96 pp. "I Choose Canada: A Memoir" is an inspiring autobiographical account by Serge Radchuk, a prominent Ukrainian-Canadian lawyer, community leader, and philanthropist, published in 2001 by The University of Ottawa Press. The memoir traces Radchuk's remarkable journey from Volhynia (modern-day Ukraine), through the turmoil of World War II and life as a displaced person in Europe, to his eventual arrival and flourishing in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Radchuk recounts his determination to master the English language and Canadian law, eventually becoming a Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) and a Member of the Order of Canada (C.M.), and his tireless advocacy for the Ukrainian-Canadian community and his role in fostering multiculturalism within the Canadian legal and political landscape. A significant contribution to Canadian ethnic studies and legal history. Dimensions: 22 cm Pickup category timeslot {A}
