Lot #440: Vintage 1928 Canada Five Cent Coin - George V Coronation Robes

Starting bidding

$1.00

Time Remaining:

Bidding starts in 0d 1h 44m

Obverse: Features the "Crowned Bust" of King George V facing left, wearing his coronation robes. Inscribed GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: REX ET IND: IMP: (George V, by the Grace of God, King and Emperor of India). Reverse: Two maple leaves on a single stem, flanked by the date 1928. The denomination 5 CENTS is at the top, and CANADA is at the base. Struck at the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa. While the mid-1920s were generally prosperous, the mintage for 1928 was produced in much smaller quantities than the years immediately surrounding it, making it a "grade-sensitive" coin that commands a significant premium in higher conditions. The 1928 five-cent piece is thus a highly sought-after "semi-key" date. Dimensions: Nickel Coin. 21.21 mm. 4.54 g. Pickup category timeslot {A}
