Because the 2002 date was relocated to the obverse to allow for the Jubilee dates on the reverse, it is considered a "one-year type" coin, highly sought after by collectors of the Queen’s portraits. This was the final year the Machin "Second Portrait" appeared on the quarter before the transition to the Susanna Blunt "Fourth Portrait" in 2003.
