Obverse feature the Morgan City Shrimp Festival Logo and reads "SHRIMP FESTIVAL...25TH ANNIVERSARY...MORGAN CITY LA...1961." Reverse features a Giant Shrimp with a Petroleum Oil Derrick on its back (the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival Logo) and reads "GATEWAY TO THE TIDELANDS...SHRIMP CAPITOL OF THE WORLD...FLOATING ON OIL...HARVESTING THE SEA." The name of the Shrimp Trawler on the obverse is "SPIRIT OF MORGAN CITY." The Derrick of the Oil Rig has a Burning Flame at its Top (symbol of flowing oil and thus prosperity) and a Sign on it that reads (in small micro-letters) "ETERNAL FLAME OF MORGAN CITY." This Festival was originally called the Shrimp Festival and was later renamed the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival, to reflect Louisiana's changing economy. In 1961, the Shrimp Festival celebrated its 25th Anniversary and Special Doubloons were struck to commemorate the event. Dimensions: 39 mm or 1 1/2" in diameter Pickup category timeslot {A}
