Obverse: Features the Small State Emblem of the Russian Empire—the double-headed eagle. The eagle holds a scepter and orb, with the shield of St. George at its center and the coats of arms of the imperial provinces on its wings. Reverse: The denomination 1 КОПЕЙКА (1 Kopeck) is centered between two rosettes. At the top is the Imperial Crown. Below the denomination is the date 1893 and the mint mark С.П.Б. (S.P.B.) for the St. Petersburg Mint. A wreath of laurel (left) and oak (right) branches encircles the design. The 1888 Russia One Kopeck coin was struck during the middles year of the reign of Czar Alexander III. This coin represents the late 19th-century "heavy" copper standard of the Russian Empire, characterized by its traditionalist, imperial aesthetic. Alexander III was known for his conservative and nationalist policies, and the coinage of his era reflected this stability. Dimensions: Copper. 21.7 mm. 3.28 g. Pickup category timeslot {A}
