This richly coloured postcard is labelled as "Warwick Brothers and Ruttler, Limited, Publishers, Toronto" The Postcard has a divided back and is labelled "Canadian Souvenir Postcard" with Number 1744" Stamped with One Green 1903 One-Cent "King Edward VII Coronation Robe" Stamp. Postmarked November 1905. Ink message in faint hand: "Dear Cousin". addresed to "Miss Birdell Sprague" in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. This postcard is a remarkable "early adopter" of the divided back format, predating the general 1907 global standard. Published by Warwick Brothers & Rutter, one of the most prestigious and historically significant printing firms in Toronto, it captures the rural charm of Norwich just as the 20th century began. Warwick Brothers & Rutter was a titan of Canadian printing, dating back to the 1840s.
