One Vintage 1900s UK Greetings Postcard, unused, showing embroidery and rose flowers, with title caption "Good-Bye" (in embroidered thread) and an eighteen-line poem. This postcard indicates the publisher as "J. Beagles and Co., Ltd., Printers and Publishers. Beagles Post Card. Printed in England" and has a logo of a globe. No Stamp. Never Postally Used. No Message. Based in London, J. Beagles & Co. was one of the "Big Three" British postcard publishers, alongside Valentine’s and Tuck. While they were famous for their "Real Photo" celebrity portraits of actors and royalty, the "Beagles Post Card" "Greetings" line was equally prestigious. The Globe Logo trademark symbolized their reach across the British Empire. Beagles prided themselves on being "Printers and Publishers," meaning they controlled the entire production process from their London facilities. They often utilized high-end printing techniques to simulate different textures. The "Printed in England" origin suggest a production date after 1905, as British firms moved away from German lithography to assert their own domestic craftsmanship.
