Vintage 1900s USA embossed Postcard, unused, showing man in a fancy Boater hat and a woman in fancy Wide-Brimmed Straw Hat both canoeing on a garden lake with gazebo, with no caption provided. The white outer border has an embossed frame, and the central picture appears to be Rotogravure. The publisher indicated as "Schlesinger Bros, New York" and with stamp rate given as "Domestic One Cent"No Stamp. Never postally used. No message. This Schlesinger Bros. specimen is a sophisticated example of the "Gilded Age" Greeting Card style, capturing the idealized leisure of the early 20th-century American middle class. Schlesinger Bros. were prominent New York publishers active during the postcard "Golden Age" (c. 1900–1915). They were known for their High-Relief Embossing, a technique that used heavy brass dies to punch the paper from the back, creating a 3D effect. The central picture utilizes a Photo-aquatint or Rotogravure process. This results in rich, tonal depth and "velvety" shadows, providing a stark contrast to the crisp, white embossed border. The instruction "Domestic One Cent" dates the card to the period between 1898 and 1917, when the one-cent rate was the standard for postcards in the United States. The "fancy hats" (Boater and Wide-Brimmed Straw Hat) are key diagnostic indicators for the 1900–1910 era. The inclusion of a Gazebo reflects the popular landscape architecture of the time, marking this as a premium "Gift" postcard rather than a simple topographical view. This card can thus be dated to the "Golden Age" era (c. 1905–1910). Dimensions: 9 mm x 14 mm Pickup category timeslot {A}
