Four Chinese Rice Bowls • These bowls were made in Jingdezhen, the world-renowned "Porcelain Capital" of China located in Jiangxi Province • These pieces are associated with the Qing Dynasty late 19th century (1880 to 1912) or early Republic period to 1920, because these bowls were individually hand thrown, and hand decorated, and show variations in the hand-painted crane designs and slight irregularities in the hand-thrown shape are hallmarks of traditional kiln work. • The circular emblem on the side represents a crane (or sometimes a phoenix/bird, motif, which in Chinese culture is a symbol of longevity and high status. • Slight variations in the depth of the foot, the flatness or curve of the bowl, the size and detail of the crane designed. • All in very good condition, no breaks, one has a hairline crack, one has a chip on the lip.
