REPRODUCTION Asian Coins ---------------------------------------------- 1) Qing Dynasty, specifically from the era of the Xianfeng Emperor 1850-1861. • The four Chinese characters on the obverse (front) of your coin read "Xian Feng Zhong Bao". This inscription identifies it as a "heavy currency" during the Xianfeng reign. • The reverse identifies its specific mint and denomination through a combination of Manchu and Chinese scripts. The weight and size do not match original coins. • Weight: 32 grams • 4 mm. x 4.2 cm. x 4.2 cm. --------------------------------------------- 2) Sangpyeong Tongbo from the Korean Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897). • Top and Bottom: Sang Pyong (#*), referring to the Sangpyeongcheong, a Korean government department. • Right and Left: Tong Bo (¡HI), which translates to "circulating treasure" or "currency". • The reverse is "blank", common among the currency of the period. • The weight and size do not match original coins. • Weight: 29 grams • 3 mm. x 4 cm. x 4 cm. -------------------------------------------- 3) Chinese cast coin, from the Western Xia Dynasty (1038-1227) • The obverse of the coin has four Chinese ideograms read clockwise: (Sheng), It (Yuan), I (Bao). These translate to "Tian Sheng Yuan Bao", which was a reign title used by Emperor Renzong of Western Xia between 1149 and 1170 AD. • The reverse is "blank", common among the currency of the period. • The weight and size do not match original coins. • Weight: 22 grams • 2 mm. x 3.7 cm. x 3.7 cm.
