Great Horned Owl by John Madison from the "Wood Carved Wildlife Collection" • The John J. Madison Co. Inc., formerly based in Irvine, California, was a notable producer of decorative wildlife sculptures, active primarily during the 1970's and 1980's. • The company closed in the mid 1990's. • This is crafted from a poly-resin or "cold-cast" material that was molded and then meticulously hand-painted to mimic the appearance of traditional wood carvings, and perched on a real piece of wood. • In excellent condition, no breaks, cracks, or chips, but a little wear on one of the "horns".
