Goldie Sherman - Inventive Teapot Goldie Sherman (b. 1952) is a clay and mixed media artist, and has a studio in Guelph, Ont. since 1981. • Sherman got her start in the arts during the late 1960's under the tutelage of her uncle, a radical socialist painter, and her aunt, a photographer who invited her to live with them in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, when she was 16. • This piece is thrown with a cream/white stoneware clay. The body of the teapot is thrown in two parts to create the form. The glaze has the look of "majolica". It has been fired to cone 6 and electric fired. • This tea pot was made between 1990 and 2000. • In excellent condition, no breaks, cracks, but does have one chip on the lip of the rim chips.
