Mary Hale - Winnie the Pooh Child's Dish • I have not been able to find out very much information about Mary Hale, but believe she has passed away. • Mary Hale was a local potter on Salt Spring Island, active primarily during the 1970's and 1980's. • She was part of the "village potter" movement that defined the island's artistic identity during that era. • Cone 6 electric fired on a buff coloured stoneware clay. • She used various slips and underglazes to create the scene of Winnie the Pooh and the butterfly. There is a slight relief to the "white" flowers. • Signed on the back M. Hale, and Saltspring. • In excellent condition, no breaks or cracks, or chips. View images. • 3.3 cm. x 15.2 cm. x 15.2 cm.
