Leonard Epp Wood Fired Chalice • Leonard was born in 1932 near Heidelberg, Germany and lived through WWil while in his teens. He left Germany, and arrived in Canada in 1951. • He moved to Vancouver and by 1956 enrolled at the Vancouver School of Art, graduating in 1960. • In 1973 Leonard moved up country to Falkland, Okanagan and taught sculpture and ceramics at the Okanagan College from 1974-1976. • From 1976 until 2008 Leonard worked out of his studio. His last, curated exhibition was in 2008 in the Vernon Art Gallery. • Leonard passed away in 2018. • It says on the bottom, "Elixir Vitae Chalice" with some symbols as well. • Cone 10 wood fired, white stoneware. Celadon like glaze at the rim on the outside, an a mottled blue/grey interior glaze. • In excellent condition, no breaks, cracks, or chips.
