Altaglass Teal/Green Decorative Dish • The Altaglass Manufacturing Company in Medicine Hat, Alberta operated from 1950 to 1988, and specialized in hand- blown and hand-shaped decorative pieces. • The company was founded in 1950 by J.H. Yuill, who purchased equipment from the Glass Guild of Canada to convert the Alberta Potteries Ltd. plant in Redcliff to glass production. • This bowl is a classic example of their "pulled" or "free-form" style. • This piece has both styles of the gold foil stickers; the gold on green maple leaf, and the silver on black sticker. • The "Hand Made in Canada" maple leaf sticker was a common feature on pieces from the 1950's and 1960's. • In very good condition, no cracks, breaks, but does have one small chip on one of the "wings".
