Birks - Sterling and Mother of Pearl Salt & Pepper Shakers • Birks is Canada's equivalent to Tiffany & Co. They were the premier source for fine silver and crystal in the 20th century. • The "Sterling" stamp confirms the metal collar is 92.5% pure silver. The lids are almost certainly Mother of Pearl. • This specific style and hallmark were most common from the 1930's to the 1950's. • The glass section of the shaker has a tiered pyramid or stacked block pattern which is Art Deco Geometric, and called Pyramid or Pagoda. • In excellent condition, no breaks or cracks, or chips.
