Lot #1: ANTIQUE MAY 1939 HAND COLORED PHOTOGRAPH THE ROYAL ENGINE ROYAL TOUR OF CANADA

Starting bidding

$1.00

Time Remaining:

Bidding starts in 0d 1h 12m

The Royal Engine of May 1939 was Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) Hudson-class steam locomotive No 2850, which played a pivotal role in the 1939 Royal Tour of Canada by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother). The locomotive was specially decorated in royal blue and silver to match the train's cars, with royal coats-of-arms on the smokebox and crowns on the running boards. I believe this is a hand colored framed photograph. The frame measures 11 3/4" by 9 3/4" with the photograph measuring 6 3/4" by 4 3/4". The frame is damaged. Shipping at winner's expense available.
