Plaque commemorating the role of Canadian volunteers in the Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion (The Mac-Paps) in the International Brigades in Spain.  The three pointed star on the  maple leaf is their badge.   The plaque shows 2 soldiers embracing and the words &#34;50 ANNIVERSARY VICTORY OVER FASCISM&#34;.  This may be a reference to the end of WW2 and the unveiling of the monument located in Queen&#39;s Park in 1995.   The background shows scenes from Guernica with the bull representing brutality and darkness. A fascinating piece of our history.

This is a vintage cup and saucer set by Grindley (Duraline, hotelware) in Honey Glaze Ivory with Fry&#39;s Hot Chocolate advertising on the cup.  Restaurant weight china distributed by Cassidy&#39;s in Canada over 60 years ago. The date mark on the cup and saucer are from the summer of 1960.  Good used condition with minor surface wear. Ideal for the collector of restaurant ware or the drinker of hot chocolate.
