These are vintage &#34;Bottoms Up&#34; or &#34;Hand-Hugger&#34; shot glasses, produced as promotional barware for Berreteaga, a prominent Mexican distillery. The full embossed text usually reads: &#34;Berreteaga - The Best Drink in Mexico&#34;. Most of these sets date from the 1940s to the 1960s. This &#34;fist&#34; or &#34;hand-grip&#34; shape was designed to be ergonomic but also served a clever marketing purpose: the irregular, rounded bottom made them difficult to set down firmly without spilling, encouraging the drinker to &#34;bottoms up&#34; and finish the shot. 3-1/4” tall.
