Portable Tibetan Ghau altar, which is a reliquary shrine traditionally used to carry sacred relics, charms, or medicine for protection. Strap is shown, but is not attached. This lot also includes an antique clay Buddha and an antique bronze Buddha marked as being 18th century or earlier, found buried in a stupa - this is from the note on the bottom of piece.

African antique metal ring artifact, in two pieces formed to join together, with raised pattern tribal details. This is a rare piece. This piece appears to be Kru or Grebo from Liberia - though this piece does seem more rare than others with open ends versus solid joined construction - as the patterns, style, four knobs and line art details can be seen in other pieces from these regions, but this piece represents a very unique joinery craftsmanship. This is LARGE - it is not a coin. This piece is HEAVY and 9&#34; in diameter when connected. A very fine piece of African antique hand crafted metal work.

Set of 2 beautiful bentwood chairs made by Kohn&#39;s Brothers with a steam pressed pattern of irises on their seats - note the printing is quite faded and barely visible. 

In 1849 Jacob Kohn and his son Josef,of Vienna, Austria, founded a company that made wooden parts for buildings. The company began making furniture in about 1867 and eventually established factories in several cities. The Kohns manufactured bentwood chairs similar to those made by Thonet. The Kohns company merged with Mundus in 1914 and the name became Kohn - Mundus. Kohn - Mundus merged with Thonet in 1922 to become the world’s largest furniture maker at that time. Kohns works can be seen in a number of museum&#39;s today including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.Vintage dining chairs are in the style of Thonet, specifically featuring bentwood construction popular in the early 20th century. 17”w x 16”d x 34”h each.  Seats do have some cracks.
