Lot #52: Estate Sterling Silver BIRKS Royal Tudor flatware E: Five Serving pieces

Estate Sterling silver from BIRKS in the Tudor Royal pattern. 8 five-piece dinner sets consisting of two forks, two knives and one spoon each. This Birks silverware pattern is in the traditional English revival styles and each piece is monogrammed with a stylistic M. All pieces are stamped “BIRKS STERLING” consistent with Birks production in the early-mid 20th century (1930-1940s). One serving spoon has a slightly different bowl shape and has been hallmarked likely dating it to late 1920s - early 1930s. This pattern is substantial and has a great hand feel. These serving pieces would compliment any of the other Birks silverware in this auction. These specialty pieces come from the same single-owner sterling collection, assembled gradually in the 1970s. The large serving spoons are 9” long and have a total weight for all 4 of 310.9 grams. The large and small serving forks are 7 1/ and 6” long respectively, and together weigh 98.3 grams. The serving butter knife is solid sterling throughout, is 6 1/2” long and weighs 35.2 grams. Packaged in cloth flatware storage bags. Pickup category timeslot {A}
