Era: Late 1920s to early 1930s Wright & Ditson is a legendary name in early American sporting goods. While they are most famous for their turn-of-the-century hickory-shafted clubs, they transitioned into early steel-shafted and pyratone-sheathed clubs in the late 1920s. Gene Sarazen was one of the absolute giants of golf’s golden age (the first player to win the modern Career Grand Slam). He signed an endorsement deal with Wilson in 1923 that lasted 75 years—the longest running contract in sports history. MacGregor is one of the greatest names in vintage golf (famous for their "Tommy Armour" IMG putters and "VIP" lines). However, the "Pacemaker" line (specifically the Pacemaker 90s) was marketed primarily as a high-quality, reliable, but mass-market retail line. Pickup category timeslot {A}
