A. Van Wouw Bushman Hunter. Bronze Sculpture With A Dark Patina. Cast In 1902. Height 18 Inches Height With Base 19.5 Inches The Bushman Hunter Has Become One Of The Artist'S Most Admired Works. This Example Without The Bow. A Thoughtfully Sculpted Bronze Sits On A Wooden Base With The An Engraved Title Plate, Sign By The Artist And Dated 1902 In The Cast. Examples Of This Sculpture Have Sold For In Excess Of 80K In South Africa. "Van Wouw Worked From Life, Exercising A Keen Perceptiveness That Allowed Him To Powerfully Capture His Subjects In Diverse Moods And Situations. Following His Emigration From The Netherlands To South Africa In 1889, The Artist Found Himself Compelled To Represent The Indigenous Peoples He Encountered. The Present Work Depicts Korhaan Who Worked For A Year As A Servant In Van Wouw'S Household. During This Time, He Modeled For Several Works By The Artist Including A Large Bust And A Body Cast Of The Bushman Made For The Transvaal Museum In Pretoria. Extended Bidding: When a bid gets placed in the last two minutes of an auction, the end time extends for an extra two minutes until there are no bids on that lot.
Buyer’s Premium: There is an 18% Buyer’s Premium in effect for this auction.
Payment: Payment above $1,000 may not be automatically processed at auction close. If payment is not processed on closing payment must be made by wire or e-transfer and full payment is required within two (2) business days.
Final Sale: All Lots are sold as is, where is. All sales are final.
Shipping: All Lots will be shipped unless mutually agreed to by the Buyer and Seller. The Seller will arrange shipment. Buyers are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance. Insurance is mandatory and must cover the full hammer price. Risk transfers to the Buyer when the Lot is released to the shipping provider.

Claims for refunds can be made only in certain limited circumstances. Where an error in the lot description has occurred on an item you purchased, let the seller (or their representative) know immediately upon pickup so that it may be rectified. Except for limited circumstances, refunds are subject to processing fees.
Maxsold does not arrange shipping; however, you can make your own arrangements at your own risk.
