George Peter was born in New York City in 1922 and attended the School of Industrial Arts. He has had no formal art education other than periodic life classes. He spent three years in the Army both here and abroad and accumulated many sketches. Since his discharge from the Army in 1945 he has been painting seriously. He has attended art courses at the Brooklyn Museum.

Johannes Karel Leurs (1865-1938) was a Dutch artist known for his naturalistic and detailed depictions of rural landscapes. Born in Den Haag, he was inspired by the natural beauty of the Dutch countryside. His etchings often showcased scenes of farm life, featuring cows, sheep, and other animals. He also produced works depicting rural landscapes with a focus on light and atmosphere. His artwork was known for its skilled use of line and texture. The image depicts a scene of cows resting by a fence, suggesting a calm and peaceful rural setting. Leurs&#39;s work is considered part of the Dutch Realist movement, which emphasizes the representation of everyday life.

Born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy – Alfredo Barbini was a glass artist that was one of Murano&#39;s leading figures of the twentieth century. The Barbini family can be traced back to the XVI century of the Murano Glass industry. Known as a Venetian noble family and one of the best glass masters, whose guild received special permission to be in the Venice Golden Book, the Barbini family played active roles in Venice’s history in areas of politics, commerce, and various areas of glass production.

Barbini began his long career in 1925 at the age of 13, working in the S.A.I.A.R. Ferro Toso factory. In 1929 he joined Anonima Vetrerie e Cristallerie Murano, where he worked side by side with sculptor, Napoleone Martinuzzi, at the Zecchin-Martinuzzi furnace as a master glassblower. Barbini soon exhibited an innate propensity for modeled figures – believing that in the execution of the objects, he felt his hand to be led by an inner force. Barbini then became a master craftsman at V.A.M.S.A. (Vetreria Artistica Muranese Società Anonima). It was here that his glass sculpturing progressed to the point of working with fumato glass, where he used thick materials and particular chromatic effects.

By 1946, Barbini went on to execute works designed by painter Luigi Scarpa Croce and in the capacity of both partner and director, he moves to the new factory, Gino Cenedese & C. With financial assistance from the firm of Salviati & C., for whom he produced products, he formed in 1950 his own glass firm, Vetreria Alfredo Barbini. His firm exhibited his work at the Venice Biennales from 1950 to 1961.

Constructed during the mid-1960’s, Barbini’s furnace itself was a piece of art resembling a gothic cathedral more than a glass factory, lit through stained glass windows contrasting strong colors with light reflections. In time Alfredo introduced his son, Flavio, and his daughter, Oceania, to the art of glassmaking, leaving his whole legacy to them. 

Among numerous other honors, Barbini was awarded the &#34;Osella d&#39;Oro&#34; by Venice&#39;s Associazione degli Industriale and the honorary title &#34;Commendatore&#34; and was named &#34;1989 Venetian of the Year&#34; by the Settemari Association.

Barbini passed away on February 13th, 2007.

Fine art and music have always been an integral part of Irina Koulikov’s life. Born in Kokand, Uzbekistan, Irina studied fine art at Moscow State University in 1986.

Artist Irina Koulikov explored her musical talents by studying vocal music at Leningrad Conservatory for two years and later becoming a choir singer at the Rimsky-Korsakov Opera Theater. In the early nineties, Irina’s paintings began to show the stylistic influences of Oleg Koulikov, who she eventually married. By 1993, she had left her singing career to devote herself to painting on a full time basis.

The Dutch masters and French painters influence Irina’s work. Her flattened forms and textural emphasis are not unlike the work of Marc Chagall. Employing an encaustic method, her distorted perspectives and calculated relationships between elements create a sense of tension. Irina’s landscapes parallel nature but are independent of it, therefore, drawing one’s attention to the materials used in the piece and its color effects. In her still life work, the warm rich browns, stark creams, and vibrant reds combined with her deliberate placement of items are inspired by the work of 18th-century artist Jean-Baptiste-Simeon Chardin.

Born in 1929 in Rotterdam painter g. j. a. van Reede (22 febr. 1929-12 aug 1998) spent the war years in the countryside of Groningen, which has inspired him to follow the Academy of fine arts in Rotterdam. There he received instruction from Willem h. Mühlstaff and Aart Bijl. After graduation, he studied at the Studio of Wim Motz, what of great influence on its development.
At the end of the fifties the artist lived and worked in Germany. He made many trips to France and Italy. His style made a development by of fine painting to abstract-naturalism.
 Jazz has had a major influence on the artist. Ger van Reede painted many Jazz figures such as Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Gerry Mulligan, Betty Carter etc. The use of color makes a direct link between sound and color. In 1995 the artist successfully exhibited in &#34;De Tuyter&#34; the cultural center of Krimpen at the IJssel. This exhibition with the theme &#34;The New Building in Rotterdam&#34; was so successful that a second exhibition followed after a few months. Now with the theme &#34;Jazz&#34;.
