Lot #48: Vintage Inuit / Eskimo soapstone carving

Vintage Inuit / Eskimo soapstone carving depicting a seated figure, seal, and wooden spear accessory. Includes original purchase receipt and authenticity tag identifying the artist as Noolookie from Povungnituk (Puvirnituq), dated 1979. Beautiful hand-carved detail throughout, including etched facial features, textured seal, and traditional clothing details. The wooden spear is included and still fits securely into the carving; however, the very bottom tip of the spear has deteriorated/broken from age and wear. Carving itself shows general age-related surface wear and scratches consistent with display and handling. Please see photos for condition details.
