Jaroslav Šejnoha (born 1889) was a Czech-Canadian painter and art restorer. He is most notably known in the art world as a close friend, collector, and patron to the pioneer of abstract art, František Kupka. Connection to František Kupka: Šejnoha was a close associate of the famous Czech painter Kupka. A major painting by Kupka, "Flux et reflux" (1923), was gifted directly to Šejnoha, inscribed with the words “à mon ami J. Sejnoha”. This specific painting has sold at Sotheby's for millions of dollars due to its historical importance. As a painter in his own right, Šejnoha is recognized for post-impressionist and modernist-leaning works, often focusing on Canadian and Bohemian landscapes. His technique ranged from oil on canvas to oil on wood panel.
