1920's to 1930's Hansel and Gretel Gingerbread House Coin Bank • This bank is a Viking Plate piece, which was a registered trademark for Lipman- Levinter Industries based in Toronto, Ca. • The Viking Plate and Silver plate Denmark models are virtually identical in design because they likely originated from the same master molds as it was common for manufacturers to share or license these repoussé designs. • The front and back show Gretel standing in a doorway. The facade includes symbols of the four card suits- spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs-along with gingerbread men and pretzels. The sides often depict Hansel sticking a bone out of a window. • "Viking Plate E.P. Brass, which indicates they are silver-plated over brass. • In excellent condition, no cracks, bruises, breaks or dents, but unfortunately the removable plate is missing.
