This lamp features a prominent prehistoric petroglyph of a figure giving birth, depicted in a stylized fashion. The lamp sits on a thick, chiseled slab of flagstone/sandstone, accented with a geometric Southwestern step-pattern border across the top edges. Sandstone is the quintessential medium of the American Southwest. Cut-out rusted iron or steel figures attached to a sandstone base were incredibly popular in Southwestern home décor throughout the 1980s, 90s, and 2000s. Tested and working.
