Lot #271: Yakima Trunk Mounted Bike Rack

This is a Yakima trunk-mounted bike rack, specifically from their HalfBack or FullBack series. It is designed to strap directly onto the trunk or hatch of a car, SUV, or hatchback to transport bicycles without needing a trailer hitch or roof rails. The two parallel black bars extending upward are where the bike frames rest. The plastic cradles along the arms hold the bike tubes, and the ratcheting plastic straps (ZipStrips) secure them in place. The central black cylindrical hub allows you to adjust the angle of the frame to custom-fit the specific slope of your vehicle's trunk or hatch.
