Large and impressive Imperial Japanese Satsuma export-ware vase dating to the Meiji period (1868–1912). Decorated with detailed polychrome panels depicting samurai and attendants, surrounded by floral roundels, intricate geometric patterns and extensive gilt decoration in the kinrande or “gold brocade” style. Cream-colored finely crackled glaze with a red painted character mark on the base. Measures approximately 18" tall. Condition: Chip and loss to the upper rim. Age-related wear and rubbing to the gilded decoration. No repairs observed. Please review photos closely. Dimensions: 18" Pickup category timeslot {A}
