Some may consider this the Holy Grail of PYREX! If you're a Pyrex aficionado - you already know what you're looking at here! This is the Pyrex Yellow, White & Black Gooseberry pattern. 1. The largest yellow bowl #444 (4 quart): excellent shine, minimal wear. A few very tiny marks on the underside of the handles (see pics). 2. The next size is the white bowl #443 (2.5 quarts), very good condition, a few minor utensil marks inside. 3. The next size is the yellow bowl #442 (1.5 quarts), very good condition, few minor utensil marks inside, some tiny marks of wear on the underside of the handle. 4. The smallest of the white bowls #441 (1.5 pint), also very good condition, minimal wear. A little history: In 1957 Pyrex Butterprint and Gooseberry were introduced for the opalware Pyrex line, preceded only by Snowflake and Pink Daisy. Along with Butterprint, Gooseberry was one of the first patterns debuted on the new “Cinderella Bowls.” Cinderella Bowls were a series of large nested mixing bowls with a handle or spout on each side, which were designed by John Philip Johnson. Most Gooseberry dishes are pink on white backgrounds or white with pink backgrounds. However, in the same year Gooseberry was released in a black pattern with either a white or yellow background. This particular colour was only available in the four-piece Cinderella Bowl set and never expanded beyond that. The black patterned set was discontinued in 1962. ..... so to find all four pieces is a pretty special treat! Pickup category timeslot {A}
