Lot #54: Antique Royal Doulton ceramic vase features the "Jackdaw of Rheims" series

Large vase in the shape of an ivy clad tower with buttresses featuring a scene from The Jackdaw of Rheims written by Richard Harris Barham in 1840. It concerns a cheeky Jackdaw who steals the Cardinal's ring but returns it when he suffers from a curse ,He then becomes so pious he is canonised on his death. This rare vase depicts Generally   In great condtion; no chips, cracks , some evidence of restoration to one of the handles . See pictures. Some mild staining to the inside from use, but nothing to detract and still displays beautifully.
