Although printing with woodcuts has fallen out of fashion in recent years, it is the earliest form of printmaking, and a discipline that relies on the skill of the artist with their etching knife and wood-block. Through relief printmaking, the artist demonstrates his dexterity as he carves his image out of the wood or linoleum block.

She has taught drawing and printmaking at several universities and received an award from the National Endowment Arts. Most recently Hall was part of a group show at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City during 1995.

Mary Faulconer signed lithograph “China Import”

A Limited Edition vintage lithograph &#34;China Import&#34; by Mary Faulconer, signed and numbered (225/250).  Circa 1980. 
Excellent Condition.  Never Framed. 
Aquired by Ballet Creole in 2005 as part of a large collection of rare vintage lithographs, now available for sale for the first time!

During the 1930s and &#39;4Os Mary Faulconer assisted Alexey Brodovitch, photographer and man behind the style that now defines the Conde Nast aesthetic. More recently two of her designs were used by the US Postal Service for a special stamp promotion, and the artist has executed other commissions for UNICEF, Steuben Glass and the Franklin Mint. Among other important collections her work is included in several important collections such as Paul Mellon&#39;s and that of the late Duchess of Windsor among others. A print by Faulconer was sold at auction as part of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis estate in 1996.
