Although printing with woodcuts has fallen out of fashion in recent years, it is the earliest form of printmaking, and a discipline that relies on the skill of the artist with their etching knife and wood-block. Through relief printmaking, the artist demonstrates his dexterity as he carves his image out of the wood or linoleum block.

These works depict society at the turn of the century.

Her work can he found in permanent collections such as The Whitney Museum, Brooklyn Museum and the Carnegie Institute. She has taught drawing and printmaking at several universities and received an award from the National Endowment Arts. Most recently Hall was part of a group show at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City during 1995.

A Limited Edition vintage lithograph &#34;Paris Roofs&#34; by Marion McClanahan, signed and numbered (216/300).  Circa 1980. 
Good Condition.  Never Framed.  Small bend on one side of paper as shown in photos, would likely be covered by framing.
Aquired by Ballet Creole in 2005 as part of a large collection of rare vintage lithographs, now available for sale for the first time!

The bright color and airy feel of McClanahan&#39;s landscapes and portraits seems to be influenced by realist art movements prevalent in the San Francisco Bay area during the late 1970s.
