Although printing with woodcuts has fallen out of fashion in recent years, it is the earliest form of printmaking, and a discipline that relies on the skill of the artist with their etching knife and wood-block. Through relief printmaking, the artist demonstrates his dexterity as he carves his image out of the wood or linoleum block.

She has taught drawing and printmaking at several universities and received an award from the National Endowment Arts. Most recently Hall was part of a group show at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City during 1995.

David Roth (born 1942) is an American Op artist recognized for his mathematically precise, vibrant color-grid compositions and innovative multidimensional &#34;string paintings.&#34; Educated at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Institute of Design under masters like Harry Callahan, Roth received the Moholy-Nagy Scholarship twice and later balanced a commercial design career with his fine art practice. Deeply rooted in Bauhaus principles, his geometric screenprints and layered fiber works utilize meticulously pre-planned mathematical formulas and shifting color intensities to create powerful optical illusions that challenge human perception. Today, his pieces are held in major public institutions worldwide, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
