- This piece is a vintage ethnographic reproduction of a Kampilan sword, a traditional weapon of the Moro people of the Philippines. - While an ethnographic reproduction, this is not to be confused with mass-produced tourist-fare. - The 30.25" single-edged blade is hand-hammered, not machine pressed. - The wooden guard includes a traditional decorative insert. - The carving of the crocodile/naga mouth on the hilt is executed with traditional Moro "okir" geometric motifs. - The hair on the hilt is genuine dyed animal hair. - While this blade has been cared for and oiled, wear is consistent with age and use. Patination on handle wood and blade. One tuft of hair is missing from the handle. Dimensions: Total length - approximately 43" Pickup category timeslot {C}
