Lot #78: Mid Century Danish Frigast Savoy Cutlery Set Henning Seidelin

Elegant setting was designed by Henning Seidelin for Frigast Denmark. Henning Seidelin was a prominent famous Danish designer who studied at the Royal Danish Academy from 1917-1936. He began his career as a sculptor but soon turned to industrial design. His work encompassed many mediums and products range from silverware, cutlery, homewares, lighting, furniture and ceramics. As with many Danish designers their skill ranges over many fields in their life time. Among others Henning designed for Georg Jensen, Hans Hansen, Frigast/Gense, Le Klint and Royal Copenhagen. The setting is called Savoy and was first designed in the early 1950's. It has a sleek glossy pattern with fine lines and elegant curves to the handles.
