- An exceptional late 19th-century French Grand Tour style inkwell cast in heavy, finely detailed gilt bronze. - This monumental tripod piece features three prominent sculptural support elements shaped as classical winged satyrs or sphinxes, which taper seamlessly down into robust lion's paw feet - The bulbous, rounded central body is richly cast with ornate relief motifs. - The top retains a stepped circular collar opening designed to house a ceramic or glass well insert. - The piece exhibits an exceptional aged golden ormolu finish with a warm, deep antique patina and minor verdigris hints in the recessed details - Antique 1880–1900 - Very good antique condition. Minor surface wear, light oxidation, and rubbing consistent with age and practical desk use.
