Lot #100: Mainstream Chinese Sculpture Vase in Acrylic/ Wood Presentation Display by Shen Jinli

Starting bidding

$1.00

Bidding starts in 0d 4h 20m

This Chinese Vase in an acrylic and wood display was a gift given to a former member of parliament, (see lot 139 for pens & pencils) (as told by previous owner). A similar example can be found in the Obama Library. Xiamen Youbide is a Chinese art company established by Jinli Shen that produces artwork in traditional styles and techniques. Shen Jinli, a young master of Chinese folk arts and crafts, was born in Xiamen and studied at the Department of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University. Growing up surrounded by an artistic family environment, she developed a strong interest in traditional crafts, specializing in lacquerware and embroidery. She has dedicated herself to the development and innovation of traditional crafts, and her works have won numerous awards at the China Arts and Crafts Masterpieces Exhibition. She has been commissioned to design and produce gifts for national leaders during their visits abroad. In 2002, she successfully held a personal exhibition and appreciation event for her works at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Her works have been collected by heads of state from dozens of countries. In 2004, she was awarded the title of "Top Ten Outstanding Individuals in China's Enterprise Culture Construction." Lacquer thread carving is a gem of traditional Minnan craftsmanship, renowned for nearly three centuries. Ubide lacquer thread carving, drawing on the strengths of many, miraculously combines the characteristics of three major traditional Chinese crafts: the elegance of Jingdezhen ceramics, the charm of Fuzhou lacquerware, and the brilliance of Beijing cloisonné. It also incorporates the traditional carving and embroidery techniques of Minnan folk artists, integrating ritual objects, sacrificial vessels, and tributes from Chinese folk art, religious art, and court art. In my research of the vase, I was unable to determine the material used in its making. Great condition. Measurements: 17”h on stand x 9” x 9” height of vase 10 1/2” and box 19 1/2” x 10 1/2” x 10 1/2”h Pickup category timeslot {A}
