Vintage Royal Crown Derby Blue Mikado After-Dinner Demitasse Set – Scalloped Saucer – Mint Condition This exquisite vintage Royal Crown Derby Blue Mikado after-dinner demitasse set features a beautifully crafted cup and scalloped saucer in excellent, near-mint condition. The delicate bone china is adorned with the iconic intricate blue pattern and finished with elegant gold gilding, showcasing the timeless artistry synonymous with fine English porcelain. Up for auction: A stunning, structurally pristine fine bone china demitasse (after-dinner coffee/tea) cup and saucer duo from the iconic Royal Crown Derby pottery of England, decorated in the beloved Chinoiserie pattern, "Blue Mikado. "This particular set is a fascinating, historically rich assembled duo spanning two distinct mid-century decades. Both pieces showcase the timeless visual narrative designed in 1894 by Thomas Amos Reed, featuring deep cobalt blue transfer scenes on a crisp white ground. Item Specifications & Measurements: Saucer: 4.25" Diameter Features the highly desirable wavy scalloped rim divided into molded quadrants. Teacup: 2.5" Height Features the elegant, geometric Dover-style handle. Historical Backstamps & Dating: Saucer (1942): Features the classic printed crown and double-D monogram with a horizontal "MADE IN ENGLAND" stamp. Marked with the rare wartime Roman numeral V, precisely dating production to 1942. Teacup (1964): Stamped in red with the "DERBY CHINA" layout. Marked with the Roman numeral XXVII, precisely dating production to 1964. The underside features a clear blue pattern painter's mark, and the upper rim bears a distinct hand-painted gold gilder's mark. Condition Report: Cabinet Quality (Mint) This set has been meticulously preserved and appears to have spent its life strictly as a display showcase piece. Gilding: 100% intact.
