Bidding starts in 0d 5h 27m

Large multi-sheet handwritten English legal indenture dated September 27, 1825, concerning land and mining interests in West Bromwich and Wednesbury, Staffordshire, England. The document records property conveyances, trusts, rent charges or mining royalties, and rights connected with coal and ironstone mines, collieries, pits, roads, railroads, machinery, and a “Whimsey Engine.” It also refers to earlier leases, releases, wills, estate interests, and the enclosure of common lands within the Manor and Parish of West Bromwich. Names appearing throughout include Thomas Horton, Daniel Horton, Isaac Horton, John Partridge, Stephen Falkner Crowther, and members of the Addison family. Handwritten on large vellum or parchment sheets and featuring elaborate period calligraphy, decorative engrossed lettering, red ruled borders, multiple blue embossed British revenue or duty stamps with metallic centers, handwritten signatures, and original red wax seals. An impressive Industrial Revolution-era manuscript with appeal to collectors of British history, coal-mining and engineering history, genealogy, antique legal documents, and decorative manuscripts. Condition is consistent with its age of more than 200 years. Shows original folds, heavy creasing, toning, staining, edge wear, small tears, holes and losses at some fold intersections, fading, and wear to the stamps and seals. Some portions of the handwriting are difficult to read. No professional transcription or authentication has been performed. All document sheets and sections shown in the photographs are included. Please review all photos carefully for exact contents and condition.
