Phoenician Glassblowers - Ruby Red Hand Blown Vase • Phoenician Glassblowers is situated on the Mediterranean island of Malta. • Phoenician Glassblowers was founded in 1985 by Leonard Sullivan, a master glassblower who previously worked at the legendary Mina Glass company. • The decal label on the front features the iconic silhouette of a artisan blowing glass with the official company name. • The vase has a classic, high-shouldered baluster body that flares out into a dramatic, wide-rimmed trumpet lip • The studio's iconic Ruby Red or Crimson is achieved by layering rich red glass over a translucent base layer, allowing it to catch and refract the light. • The upper shoulder and wide rim show "veining" or "tortoiseshell" detail ensuring that no two pieces are identical. • There is a polished pontil with a diamond-point etched signature hand- engraved into the glass by the artisan and it is dated 2005. • In excellent condition, no cracks, breaks, or chips.
