Vintage Crescent Pewter Coffee / Tea Pot – Model 6108 Up for auction is an exceptional piece of mid-century American metalware: a genuine Crescent Pewter footed coffee/tea pot (Model 6108). Featuring an elegant Colonial Revival silhouette, this piece showcases a tall pedestaled circular foot, an elongated egg-shaped body, and a high-swept handle complete with a scrolled thumb rest. The original dual heat-insulator rings remain perfectly intact on the handle assembly. The hinged flip-top lid is crowned with a classic, beautifully detailed acorn finial. The underside of the pedestal base is stamped with the authentic, circular "Crescent Pewter" moon emblem alongside the factory pattern catalog number 6108. Manufacturer & Historical Significance This piece was produced by the Crescent Silverware Manufacturing Company, Inc.. Founded in New York City in 1922, the company became renowned for its high-quality hollowware production. In 1939, Crescent expanded operations by absorbing the old Knickerbocker Silver Company and relocating its entire factory to Port Jervis, New York. During the 1930s through the 1950s, Crescent was recognized as one of the premier American pewter makers. The pattern number and styling of this piece safely place its production between 1939 and the mid-1950s, making it a highly collectible artifact from the golden era of their Port Jervis operations. The company ultimately ceased its independent production lines when it was acquired by Samuel Kirk & Son in 1977. Item Specifics Brand / Maker: Crescent Silverware Mfg. Co.
