The Manufacturer: Founded in 1885, the Multnomah Trunk & Bag Company was a prominent Pacific Coast luggage manufacturer during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The &#34;Baggageman Proof&#34; Tagline: Popularized during the 1910s through the 1930s, this marketing phrase emphasized that the trunk was heavily armored and built ruggedly enough to survive notoriously rough handling by railway and steamship baggage handlers.
Materials: These high-quality chests were built utilizing a core of heavy 3-ply Oregon fir veneer. The exterior of this specific model features a forest green finish reinforced with cold-rolled steel framing, closely spaced brass rivets, heavy corner bumpers, and a central lock with dual outer flip-down latches.

Framed 1001 origami cranes arranged in a family crest. Very intricate origami. Large and impressive! Measures 30.5” by 34”. Some slight wear to frame but good condition. In Japanese American tradition, 1001 origami cranes are often arranged to form a family crest as part of a celebratory display, especially for weddings or other milestone events. This practice is a blend of Japanese origami heritage and a uniquely Japanese American cultural adaptation. The 1001 crane tradition began in the U.S. among Japanese Americans, who adapted the Japanese senbazuru (1000 cranes) concept by adding one extra crane for good luck.
