Mid-Century Modern Thai Floating Market 4-Panel Oil Painting Set by Brittini / Pattarini, c. 1970s (28" x 12") Up for auction is a beautiful, highly collectible piece of Mid-Century Modern home decor. This complete 4-panel multi-panel art set (polyptych) captures the vibrant, traditional river lifestyle and canal-side floating markets of Thailand. Dating to the late 1960s or early 1970s, this set was produced by a prominent commercial art export studio—most notably associated with the Van Gaard Art Studios era. Reflecting its authentic studio house production, the collection uniquely features two distinct, highly sought-after retro decor brand signatures across the series: "Brittini" on the second panel and "Pattarini" on the anchor panel. The artwork features an exceptional, dramatic "drip and scratch" palette-knife technique with heavily layered, thick impasto paint lines over a textured canvas textile weave. The narrative arc moves from a bustling Southeast Asian urban street scene with a passenger rickshaw (samlor) to serene, sun-drenched stilt villages, traditional long-tail canoes, and silhouetted temple spires (Wats) set against warm, glowing atmospheric sunset gradients. Presented in its original, minimalist mid-century blonde wood frame, this long, low-profile format is the quintessential MCM accent piece, making it a perfect statement artwork to display over a retro credenza, sideboard, or vintage sofa. Condition Report: Very good vintage condition. The oil/acrylic paint on canvas panels remains structurally sound with excellent retention of the heavy, raised paint texture and vibrant color gradients. The original vintage wood frame shows light, honest wear consistent with age, retaining its authentic retro character. Sold as-is.
