Bidding starts in 0d 1h 16m

Rare and highly collectible original 1974 Canadian first pressing of Steely Dan's classic third studio album, "Pretzel Logic". Released on ABC Records (Cat: ABCD 808), this copy was licensed and distributed by RCS Limited. "G" etching in deadwax runout, identifying it as an authentic early Canadian cut mastered at RCS Victor Studios in Montreal and manufactured at the celebrated RCA Pressing Plant in Smiths Falls, Ontario. This regional variant is highly regarded by vinyl enthusiasts for its robust, clean sound profile and heavy vintage vinyl weight. Cover Art: stark, timeless black and white cover photo shot by Ed Caraeff on a freezing winter day in Central Park, New York City. Captures a real Manhattan street vendor named Lucky selling hot pretzels for 15 cents out of his pushcart. The gatefold design encapsulates teh gritty, cynical, yet nostalgic early-1970s New York atmosphere that heavily inspired Walter Becker and Donald Fagen's songwriting. Spine denotes Litho in Canada. Track List: "Rikki Don't List That Number" became the biggest pop hit of the band's career ft a famous opening bossa-noca bass line stolen from jazz artist Horace Silver. "East St. Louis Toodle-Oo" stands as the only song in Steely Dan's entire discography that is a note-for-note cover of a classic Duke Ellington composition. "Parker's Band" written as a direct love-letter tribute to jazz saxophone legend Charlie Parker. The track list marks a massive turning point for collectors. It was the final album to feature the full original quintet touring lineup (including Jeff "Skunk" Baxter). At the same time, it introduces legendary session heavyweights like Jeff Porcaro (future Toto drummer) and Jim Gordon, signaling the band's transition into a studio-only powerhouse. Auction Note: All lots are from a single estate collection. This is an opportunity to purchase a carefully curated decades-spanning collection from a single collector. The majority of the vinyl is in near mint condition with many appearing unplayed - if there are flaws of note we did our best to photograph that specifically.
